Rookie of the Year!

Here is my Kipper Dipper....Flying his way toward Rookie of the Year!

We're pretty sure that Kipp has locked in Rookie of the Year. Our last competition was Saturday (where Kipp and the fiance took 9th overall, btw!!!) and the way it looks is that Kipp and I have the most Rookie points! :) How cool is that? My little one year old boy, a rescue, that we've only had since January (which is when we started fostering Mr. Dipper-we adopted him at the end of Feb. and he had been in rescue since he was just a baby!) is the man! You go boy!

And not to leave Miss Rockstar out-she came in second with me!! Right behind us....Kipp came in 3rd with fiance Jeff. And our good friend Mike came in 4th with his red dog Maggey!

It was a really fun season and I'm super happy we found this to do with our dogs. It keeps me way more active than I was before, and my lazy butt needed that! Especially now because I need to lose some weight for my wedding! :)

Fostering Again

Meet Devi:

Devi is a singe, black & white female, looking for love. She loves toys, long walks, a run from time to time, and snuggling is by far her favorite! Road trips? She loves the wind in her fur and to be right by your side! C'mon-who doesn't want a fun loving woman who is adventurous and up for anything?! She loves to meet new people!!

Devi is somewhere around 3-4 years old we're thinking. She's just giving us a head shot because she's a little embarrassed by her weight right now. She could stand to lose a few!! You cannot feel her ribs, even if you try, so we need to slim her down and find that special someone for her to fall in love with!

She is the sweetest thing. She's already housebroken (Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!) and is working on her crate training. She can be a little barky at first but calms down after a few minutes. She is working on her manners, as being in the shelter for almost a month and who knows where before that, didn't help her much in that department. I can't wait to see how she is after she has had a chance to calm down and get settled in at our house. She is going to make someone a fantastic family member.

WBCR needs your vote!!!

Hi everyone.
For those that don't know I work with the WY Border Collie Rescue and we have a chance to win $5000 from Petfinder.com but we need your votes!
We have lots of dogs in our care that could really benefit from this donation and I would love if everyone could go here:

http://www.petfinder.com/disasterprep
State: Wyoming
Shelter: Wyoming Border Collie Rescue

And vote! Vote as many times as possible! Tell everyone that you can to please vote for WBCR and help us win! It's hard to compete against the giant SPCA's that are out there but we are going to try our hardest.

THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!! YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roxy's Peeved Look

I found this funny-so I thought I'd share it with you. Rockstar happens to get many 'peeved' looks when I take her picture. Could it be because I take too many pictures of her?? Nooooo, that can't be it. She was born with this look, please see below:

Then: (Her 5th day home)

4 months old
And now:
Serious face
Ha ha! Makes me giggle.
Anyways.....The demo on Saturday night went really well. Rockstar kicked some ass(even though it was her first time wearing these booties) and was a crowd fave in her pink camo bandana! She was making her rounds with the audience before we threw and was charming people just being her cute, little self!
People loved the demo and I heard really great comments about all of the dogs and how well behaved they were. How cool it is to watch how high some of them can leap(we have a bc/aussie cross that can just bounce straight up in the air-they LOVED her, she is a ton of fun to watch). How cute they were in their booties. How awesome some of the freestlye throws were. I've never heard such positive comments and such fun crowd reactions for a demo before. It was awesome. I can't wait to start doing freestyle. :)

Kipp Split, Rockstar Bonanza

Ugh, will it end? Kipp was healing so nicely, until yesterday when he split his cut back open somehow.

On a fun note: Tomorrow night we will be doing another Roller Derby demo and Rockstar will be doing this one. I'm excited! Her booties arrived about 2 weeks ago, and she has been ROCKING at our practices lately. We've been doing quite a bit of freestyle and she's nailing almost everything. It's all very, very exciting! WOOT!!!
