Remember when you used to be able to play?

Aw, I'm torturing by poor boy. Although he doesn't know it. But I am posting pictures from 2 weekends ago when my bf took the kids SNOWSHOEING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom, it's COLD up here!!
I think they know a good photo-op when they see one!
He was just running along, happy as a clam....
Then all of a sudden, he wasn't.

He sank in all the way up to his shoulders! But he's cute stuck in the snow!!Mom, look at what happens when you try and dig yourself out with your face!
Roxy is such a showoff. No snow on this little girls face.....yet!
I love this shot of him coming over the hill.
Hmmm, they still look a little cold.
And the beautiful Colorado scenery.
Roxy is here to model with this tree.....very nice.
Rocky Mountain High!
Rocky Mountain Bye. These were 2 tuckered out doggies, ready to sleep the entire ride home!

10 days crate rest = 1 unhappy Kipper Dipper

A little background: The bf and I had been noticing that after play time (whether it be roughhousing with Roxy, or practicing some toss and catch, or fetch, or just plain running around in the yard) that Kipp's back passenger-side leg seems to seize up on him and cause him to walk funny. It almost looks like he is walking on the outside of his back right foot and his leg is at an angle under his body. It's been happening off and on for about 2 weeks or so and that was long enough for me.

Skip to yesterday: My brain goes through all the possibilities of what it could be: a sprain, a pull, a tear in a ligament, maybe he has a bruise from a rough landing or roughhousing and it still hurts when he overexerts himself, hip dysplasia, etc. I decide that he must go see a vet, especially before disc season starts, which is May 10th. I took him to a walk-in clinic that is pretty near us, and the vet did an exam on him without seeing any real problems. Some tightness, but she said that could just be from having someone new tugging at his legs and he might not be comfortable with that. '10 days complete rest and anti-inflammatories and let's see how he is after that.' She even said to take him out to potty on a leash, ugh. If he doesn't seem to be doing better at that point we will do x-rays to check out other possibilities. Let's just hope it's a sprain, or soreness/stiffness from something that can be cured in these 10 days! Something must make these 10 days worth it!

He does NOT like this no play, all day thing and we're only on day 1. Oy.

And the worst part is the weather is absolutely gorgeous here and I would like nothing more than to take the dogs to the park every day after work and run them till their little hearts are content. I'll have to sneak Rockstar out without Kipp noticing......

This is why she’s hot......

This was a HUGE weekend for Rockstar and I'm so proud of my little girl.
It started out by having her first ever disc dog demo with The Colorado Disc Dogs on Friday night. It was a preview to the big Pet Expo that was in town for the weekend and people had to pay $35 for a ticket to see this! You could also preview the flyball demo and give dock diving a try with your dog, and of course there was the open bar and some appetizers! We did a round of Toss and Catch against another team and we did pretty well considering it was our first demo. She made some great catches.

Then we moved on to Saturday where we are set to do 3 more demo’s at the Expo itself. It was so much fun, she did really well, and we even were able to perform at the half time show for the The Colorado Rapids that night! Seriously, it was our first demo EVER on Friday and we stepped up to a HUGE demo the very next night. It was really exciting and everyone had a blast!!!

On Sunday we did 3 more demo’s and Roxy and I were exhausted by the end of the night. Roxy even had a go at Dock Diving, which is clearly not her sport, but she did jump in and I'm proud of her for even trying it! All in all the weekend was a blast.
Oh, and at the Expo there was a wonderful lady doing free canine massage and I thought Rox might like that so we gave it a shot. She loooooooooooved the massage so throughout the spring/summer, she is spoiled enough to be getting massages after competitions(And Kipp too!). Sorry the pictures aren’t great, I only had my camera phone with me! :(

Eyes closed, completely relaxed!

This is one haaappppy and content dog!

I'm hoping to get some pics from some of the demo's soon. If I do, I will upload those too!!

Spring has Sprung Gift Swap

I am on a forum that does gift exchanges with other bc owners and lovers. Rockstar and Kipp received their presents yesterday and being the mean mom that I am, I made them wait for their houseguests to leave before I would let them open the 'Box of Fun.' But here they are, happy as can be with their new toys and treats.

I just know you're gonna throw it.....

Throooooow it, throw it........

I LOVE this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Now if that face doesn't scream happy, I don't know what does!)

I love treats. I'm just gonna help myself to one of these fish skins here. Yup, I just need one, to satisfy my cravings, just one, but now that I think of it, 2 would be better...yeah 2.....

Ok, Mom, I'm ready now, throw it!

Roxy: She wasn't throwing it for you, she was throwing it for me!
Kipp: I'm just helping, that's all, *mumbles under breath* you sissy...

I love my dogs, one is focused on the prize and the other is just adorable.

Stop making us wait!! We just want you to throw a toy. Either toy. Any toy. PLEEEEEASSSEE!

Roxy is keeping track of her lamb, making sure no one tries to distract her by taking her picture and then stealing it for their own amusement. Kipp is just happy all the time. No matter what. BUT especially when new toys arrive at the house just for him and Rockstar!

Thank you again to Dinah, Dave, Riley and Ozzie.

They really appreciated every single thing that you picked out! Roxy especially appreciates the fish skins because Kipp doesn't know what to do with them and that means she gets twice as many!!!!!

Doggie Daycare?

For the weekend I am watching my friend's 2 dogs.
This is Mariah:

Poor Mariah. She just cries and cries hoping her dad will come back soon and get her. She loves to lay on the couch, but any little, tiny sound and she is jumping up looking out the window trying to see if Daddy is coming. Poor little girl. Only one day left honey!

And this is Zoe (who I just LOVE!):
My brother decided she needed a new nickname, and is now lovingly known here as 'PunkAss' because she is hard core with her black eye!!

Hmmmm, me thinks someone is a wee bit bored....

Nope, she was just tired and needed to find someone without a camera to snuggle up with. Jeff was an easy target.

Kipp has decided he LOVES little PunkAss. It is a constant PuppyWE (That's canine for WWE) in my living room anytime both of these kids are in the house. And it's funny when Rockstar joins in too because they gang up on poor PunkAss. But she is a trooper and still takes them on!

The Kipp Takedown!

Dancing???

MOM! She stole my MONKEY!

Come and get it sucker!!!!

I'm so cute with the Monkey though, you should just let me keep it...

And when Kipp is done wrestling with PunkAss, he looks like this. She wears him out!

Kipp: Are you thinking what I'm thinking???
Roxy: Shhhhhhhhhh, I'm doing Jedi mind tricks on her.
Kipp: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Roxy: I'm wearing her down, I can feel it. She is wanting to put that damn camera down and throw. a. disc...
Roxy: Look cute buddy. She can't resist us!
Kipp: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......
Kipp: *drool*
DEMON DOG!!!!!! Can you believe he went from cute, little, sweet Kipp to this in .5 seconds?!

Maybe next time I should just throw one!!

Happy Official, Unofficial Birthday Kipp!!!!

Since Kipp is just a big goof, and sometime around now he would be turning 1, we chose today for his official, unofficial birthday. He has been with us now for almost 3 months, but we adopted him officially on 2/24/08!

Tonight should be awesome because our order of brand new plastic came in for the upcoming disc dog season!!!!! What a kickass birthday present! 80 untouched discs! And I'm sure Kipp will think they are all just for him, and I will let him think that until tomorrow when I break the news that he has to share with Rockstar. I'm sure he won't mind giving up the pink ones! ;)
Happy Birthday Big Guy!
